Customers rarely choose the cheapest quote. They choose the one that's clear, arrives first and makes them feel confident. A better quote can lift your win rate without lowering your price.
What to include
- The customer's name and address, and a reference to what they asked for.
- A plain-English scope: exactly what you'll do and what's not included.
- The price, with GST shown clearly.
- Options where it makes sense: good, better, best.
- Timing: when you can start and how long it takes.
- Your licence number, insurance and warranty.
- How to accept: a signature, a button or a reply.
- How long the quote is valid.
Speed matters
Send quotes the same day if you can. The longer a customer waits, the more likely they've booked someone else. Quoting apps like ServiceM8, Tradify and Fergus let you send from your phone before you leave the driveway.
Follow up
- Call or text two or three days after sending.
- Ask if they have questions, not whether they've decided.
- One more follow-up a week later is fine. Then let it go.
Add proof
Attach photos of similar jobs and a link to your Google reviews. It reminds them why you're worth it.
