Blogging is worth it for tradies when each article answers a question customers ask before they hire someone. It's not worth it if it means writing filler nobody searches for.
Articles that bring customers
- Price guides: "How much does a switchboard upgrade cost in Perth?"
- Problem guides: "Why does my safety switch keep tripping?"
- Comparisons: "Split system vs ducted air conditioning."
- Local guides: "Pool fencing rules in WA."
- Project write-ups: a real job, with photos, the suburb and what you did.
Articles that rarely help
- Company news nobody searches for.
- Generic tips copied from other sites.
- Very short posts that don't answer the question.
A plan you can keep
- Write down the ten questions customers ask you most.
- Answer one a month in plain language.
- Link each article to the matching service page.
- Add a call to action at the end.
Where to find topics
Your phone calls, Google's "People also ask" box and autocomplete. See keyword research for local businesses.
