Google Business Profile performance: what the numbers mean

Your Business Profile's performance section shows how people find you and what they do next. Ignore the vanity numbers and watch calls, website clicks and direction requests. Those are customers.

What you'll see

  • Profile views: how many people saw your profile on Search and Maps.
  • Searches: the search terms that showed your profile.
  • Calls: taps on your call button.
  • Website clicks: visits to your site from the profile.
  • Directions: requests for directions to your location.
  • Bookings, if you have a booking link set up.

Which numbers matter

  1. Calls and website clicks. Track them month to month.
  2. Search terms. If people find you by name but not by service ("electrician Wanneroo"), your categories, services or website need work.
  3. Views compared with actions. Lots of views but few calls usually means weak photos, few reviews or missing information.

Track website visits properly

Add a tracked link (with UTM parameters) as your profile's website address, so profile visits show separately in Google Analytics.

Use the data

Check monthly. If a search term you care about is missing, build a page for it on your site and add the service to your profile. See how to rank higher on Google Maps.
