Most Perth small businesses pay between $2,000 and $8,000 for a professionally built website in 2026. Where you land in that range depends on the number of pages, who writes the content, and whether you need online sales or bookings.
2026 price ranges
| Type of site | Typical cost (AUD) |
|---|---|
| DIY builder (Wix, Squarespace) | $600–$1,000 a year in subscriptions and your time |
| Basic 5-page brochure site | $800–$5,500 |
| Small business service site (5–12 pages) | $3,000–$8,000 |
| Online store | $5,000–$25,000+ |
Ranges compiled from Bark, What's the Damage, WP Creative and VEBIT, 2026.
What changes the price
- Number of pages. A trade business that wants to rank in several suburbs needs a page for each main service and each priority suburb. That is more work than a five-page site, and it is also what brings the calls.
- Who writes the words. Copywriting is the cost people forget. If you supply the text, the price drops. If the designer writes it, expect to pay for it.
- Custom design or template. A template adapted to your brand is faster and cheaper. A fully custom design costs more and rarely ranks better on its own.
- Features. Online booking, quote calculators, payments and integrations with tools like ServiceM8 add time.
Running costs after launch
- Domain name: about $15–$30 a year for a .com.au.
- Hosting: $10–$30 a month for shared hosting that suits most small business sites.
- Care plan (updates, backups, small edits): $50–$300 a month.
Questions to ask before you pay
- Is the domain registered in my name, and do I get full admin access?
- Is basic SEO included: page titles, Search Console, a sitemap, fast loading?
- How many rounds of changes are included?
- What happens to the site if I stop paying you?
