FAQ pages that rank and answer customers

Good FAQs answer the questions customers ask before they book. They save you time on the phone and can help your pages appear for question-style searches.

Where the questions come from

  • The questions you answer on the phone every week.
  • Google's "People also ask" box for your services.
  • Questions in your reviews and emails.

Where to put FAQs

  1. On each service page, with three to six questions about that service.
  2. On suburb pages, with local questions, such as travel time or call-out fees.
  3. A general FAQ page for business-wide questions like payment, guarantees and insurance.

Writing good answers

  • Answer in the first sentence, then add detail.
  • Keep it short: two to four sentences.
  • Be honest about prices and timeframes.
  • Link to the relevant service page or guide.

Example

Do you charge a call-out fee? Yes, our call-out fee is $X, which covers the first 30 minutes on site. If you go ahead with the work, it's included in the job price.

FAQ schema

FAQ schema markup helps search engines understand your questions and answers, but Google shows FAQ rich results for very few sites. Write FAQs for customers first.
